Germanic Studies Minor

Minor Requirements for M.A. and Ph.D.

Minors in Germanic studies at both the M.A. level and the Ph.D. level are available for graduate students in other programs. The minor program must be approved by the director of graduate studies of the Department of German, Scandinavian and Dutch. You may elect to take more courses than the established minima, but you are not required to do so.

M.A. Minor Requirements (minimum 9 cr (usually 3 courses))

GSD 8001, Approaches to Textual Analysis (3 cr)
2 more GSD graduate-level courses (6 cr)

Ph.D. Minor Requirements (minimum 15 cr (usually 5 courses))

5 GSD graduate-level courses (15 cr), one of which must be GSD 8001, Approaches to Textual Analysis if it wasn't taken at the M.A. level
